Welcome to Outside the MCU, where we encourage you to take your favorite MCU actors and play with them outside the MCU sandbox.

Rules:

1. This community is open to any MCU (or MCU-related) actor. That includes movies such as Thor, Iron Man, The Avengers, Captain America, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Ant-Man, as well as tv/netflix shows such as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Agents of SHIELD, and Agent Carter.

2. This community is intended mainly for smaller fandoms that don’t receive much love elsewhere, not fandoms that still have large, thriving communities dedicated to them. That said, I’m not going to police that too strictly. If you think that George Kirk doesn’t get enough attention in the Star Trek communities, then go ahead and post/announce your fic here.

3. Fic, graphics, vids, discussion, meta, reviews, etc are all welcome. (Please feel free to post an announcement to any fanwork you may have already created.)

4. Fanworks posted to this community should focus on characters played by MCU actors. If you want to write a character study of Benji from Mission Impossible, rather than William Brandt, then it probably doesn’t belong here.

5. No RPF.

6. Crossovers between non-MCU fandoms are welcome and encouraged. Crossovers between a non-MCU fandom and an MCU (or MCU-related) fandom will only be allowed if the non-MCU fandom is the main focus of the story. For example, Aaron Cross is William Brandt is Clint Barton.

7. Use a descriptive subject line that includes at the very least the type of work you’re posting (fic, vid, icons, etc) and the fandom. Including the title, character/pairing and rating would be a bonus.

Examples:

Icons: The Losers
Fic: Hansel and Gretel: a new day Hansel & Gretel R
Discussion: A Case Study of Jeremy Renner and Guns: Aaron Cross, William Brandt and Hansel

8. Use a header for all fanworks that includes at least the following information, if applicable:

<i>Title:</i> <i>Author/Artist:</i> <i>Pairing/Characters:</i> <i>Rating/Genre:</i> <i>Notes/Warnings:</i>

9. Unless you’re merely posting an announcement linking to your fanwork elsewhere, all fiction, graphics (with the exception of two or three teaser icons or thumbnail), spoilers, adult content, and any long post must be placed behind a cut.

10. No flaming will be allowed. If you don’t like something, skip it.

11. Do not lock your posts here in the community or link to friends-locked posts. This is a community site and I would very much like to keep it as open and accessible as possible.

12. You may tag your own posts. I’ll create new author and fandom tags as needed.
